Craniosacral Therapy

Craniosacral Therapy is a gentle, non-invasive technique that applies minimal pressure to the neck area where the skull and spinal cord meet. The Craniosacral system is made up of the cerebrospinal fluid and the membranes that surround and protect the brain and spinal cord. Restrictions of movement of the cranial sutures or where the skull bones meet, often lead to the obstruction of the normal flow of cerebrospinal fluid. When this fluid ceases to flow normally, the body becomes more prone to disease. By using soft touches, restrictions in the cranio-sacral system can be released and will lead to the overall improvement of the central nervous system.

Craniosacral Therapy is a light touch approach that improves the body's natural healing capabilities. Practitioners place light contact on the cranium, the sacrum, or any other part of the body if necessary. Through this contact, the practitioner is able to pick up on patterns of motion within the body. Each motion reflects upon a core structure of the body. When people are affected by an illness or any other ailment, those ailments affect the motion produced by the body. Ailments can create restrictions or limits of the motion. By unclogging the restrictions and allowing the movements within the body to free themselves, the practitioner is allowing for the release of disease conditions throughout the body.

This form of therapy has been known to alleviate a number of conditions some of which include, stress and tension related problems, fatigue, migraine headaches, neck and back pain, arthritis, insomnia, spinal curvatures and even traumatic brain and spinal cord injuries. Lifting the restrictions of the craniosacral system allow the body to fight off illness. This therapy can be used on anyone from newborns all the way up through adulthood. Making craniosacral therapy a part of your life will only improve your health and well-being.
