Deep Tissue Massage
Deep
tissue massage is a form of massage that
deals with the deeper layers of tissue within
the body. When muscles are stressed they
block oxygen and nutrients which can eventually
lead to inflammation and the build up of
toxins. Deep tissue massage works to loosen
the tissue of the muscle which, in turn,
releases toxins and allows the muscles to
resume proper balance as well as normal
blood and oxygen circulation.
Deep tissue massage is very beneficial
to a healthy lifestyle. Stress and tension
are the leading factors that cause muscles
to block nutrients and oxygen. Using slower
strokes and deeper finger pressure, Deep
tissue massage works to release patterns
of tension within the body.
By either going across, or following the
fibers of the muscles and tendons, deep
tissue massage breaks up and eliminates
scar tissue and increases circulation to
injured and aged areas of the body that
no longer receive adequate blood flow. This
form of massage is beneficial to the construction
of a healthier lifestyle because the defusing
of the muscles and the release of toxins
can be both curative and therapeutic.
