Facials
Facials
are well known for their simplicity and
effectiveness in improving the overall appearance
of the facial skin. A facial is a treatment
that deeply purifies and exfoliates resulting
in smooth and well-hydrated skin. Facials
are most often used for minimizing dry skin,
acne, wrinkles and skin blemishes. They
also work to remove the outer layers of
dead skin in order to keep the epidermis
toxin free.
There are many different kinds of facials.
The facial you receive will depend on your
skin type, the products used, the treatment
chosen and your age. Most basic facials
involve four different steps. These steps
are: cleansing, massage, steam and application
of face mask.
First, the face is cleansed in order to
remove any make-up or surface dirt that
might be clinging to the outer layers of
skin. Next, the massage will relax the muscles
of the face and, at the same time, release
toxins from the body and stimulate circulation.
Third the steam will soften the skin so
that blackheads and whiteheads can be removed
more easily. It also allows for easier absorption
of the facemask cream into the skin. Last,
the facemask will help to clarify the skin.
It also provides extra care to dry or acne
covered skin.
Before any facial, your skin will most
likely be analyzed in order to customize
a facial just for you. More upscale facials
will also often include a neck massage and
special treatment for the skin of your eyelids.
Many spas today will place cucumbers, green
tea, honey or even seaweed over your eyelids
in order to revitalize the skin.
Receiving facials on a regular basis will
cause your pores to remain unclogged and
your face to look smooth and healthy. Your
skin cells regenerate every six weeks, which
is all the more reason to incorporate facials
into your life. Facials are a relaxing way
to keep your face looking its best.
