Reiki
Reiki is a unique form of therapy that
channels energy into the human body in order
repair and harmonize. It is one of the more
widely known forms of energy healing which
involves the direct application of Chi (healing
through energy forces) for the purpose of
strengthening the patients’ energy
system. Not unlike most other healing therapies
rooted in human energy fields, Reiki’s
purpose is to restore balance to the body’s
vital energy.
The big difference between Reiki and other
forms of therapeutic healing is that Reiki
deals solely with the channeling of energy.
The Reiki practitioner rarely touches the
patient with his or her hands, but instead,
holds them inches above the body in order
to channel energy towards different places.
Some positions, such as cradling the head,
do require contact, but most practitioners
refrain.
The practitioner’s hands provide
warmth and healing energy to negative spots
throughout the body. Reiki destroys energy
blockages, detoxifies the system, brings
about deep relaxation and provides new strength
and life to the body’s energy fields.
Reiki is most often performed on a person
whose life energy is unbalanced. Reiki corrects
this balance and brings about an overall
sense of harmony.
