Shiatsu
Shiatsu
is an Eastern form of massage therapy that
works to balance the physical attributes
with the natural energy of the body. Shiatsu
is the Japanese word for pressure or finger
pressure. This technique is often used in
conjunction with joint rotations and stretches
in order to treat the body on a holistic
level. Treatment works to cure the body,
mind and spirit.
Shiatsu is practiced by using the fingers,
thumbs and palms to apply pressure to either
generic or specific points on the body.
This pressure works to regulate the functions
of the nervous system, improve overall body
circulation, bring balance to the skeletal
system and give flexibility to the skin.
This form of therapy works best at curing
muscular and skeletal problems, posture
problems and any stress related illnesses
including emotional troubles. Shiatsu not
only helps a person with physical problems,
but it also helps a person come to terms
with their own body on a spiritual level.
People learn to understand what they need
to do in order to help themselves lead a
more healthy life.
